Our highly trained team of Hawks Eagles owls and Falcons are firm favourates with clients at Holmescales. All our Falconry sessions are fully 'hands on' allowing our clients to get up close and personal to the most amazing predators on earth! Mixing seamlessly with other events on the day adding a falconry session either in the form of 1/ ½ hour group activity to fit in with multi activity days or a large formal flying display involving the entire group will add a touch of class to your event that will never be forgotten. You will never cease to be amazed at how gently the hawks and owls will alight on your gloved hand (once you have plucked up the courage to put the gauntlett on) or at the phenomanal power and grace of the peregrine falcon stooping and diving at up to 100 mph within feet of the group (just try not to duck)!!

The falconry sessions at Holmescales can be tailored to suit you and your event with endless possibilities, mixing entertainment and group bonding with a once in a lifetime experience.

To fit in with other activities the group will spend up to 1 ½ hours with the birds before heading off to the next session in the day. After a brief demonstration of the correct and safe method of calling the birds to the glove each guest will have the chance to put a young bird through its paces themselves in the same manner that has been practiced since time began.

Once their confidence has grown the group will fly the adult hawks and owls through the woods and fields surrounding the center. These hardened performers will twist and turn through the trees never taking their eyes off their dinner and returning in an instant to our clients gloved hand when asked to do so.

To finish the session the falcons will be flown, these masters of the sky can attain speeds of up to 100mph. They will climb up to over 1000 feet ( a speck in the sky) only to plunge earthward over the heads of the group to chase a lure within feet of the spectators ending the session with one of the finest sights nature has to offer which will stay embedded in their memory for years to come.
